- Prepare 1 lb apple cinnamon pork sausage
- Take 1 med. onion
- Make ready 3 eggs
- Get 1 tbs brown sugar
- Get Salt & pepper
- Prepare Crust:
- Make ready 2 cups flour
- Take 1 stick butter
- Get 3-4 tbs ice water
Steps to make Autumn Sausage Roll:
- Dice cold butter, cut in to flour, add ice water tbs at a time til dough comes together. Wrap and put in fridge for 1 hr. (Or freezer for 30 mins)
- Sautee onions in butter, when they start to turn golden, add brown sugar. Let go a few minutes longer.
- Mix sausage, onions, 2 eggs, salt and pepper.
- Cut dough in half. Roll each half to a long rectangle. (Approx. 8'x10') Slice each rectangle in to 2 long slices.
- Make 4 logs out of sausage mixture, about same length of dough. (If too wet add bread crumbs)
- Wrap sausage log in dough. Flip on to seam side. Mix 3rd egg and a little water or milk. Brush tops of logs.
- Cut logs in to 4-8 pieces. Lay on greased baking sheet. Bake in a 400° preheated oven, 20 - 25 mins. Til golden brown.
